Gladiator is an action packed film comming from the perspective of a triumphant general named Maximus. The character maximus in this film was played by Russel crowe who is constantly in a struggle of love and vengance. In this film Maximus knows what he must do in order to survive in turn showing a very motivated side of maximus which illustrates his desire for revenge. In the ending scene of this exciting film it cuts back to a memory of his fields and a glimpse of his wife and son signifying his success in his very own last moments. As the movie is coming to an end it also wraps up a romantic love story.
I really enjoy this movie for three reasons. First of all it is filled with action packed scenes in which maximus must complete tasks to stay alive. Another thing i found very interesting was the way the director used low key lighting in sensitive scenes to set mood of sincerity and mystery. The final thing i like about this movie is that way the the director uses long shots and medium shots to create the feeling of different moods.
Critics are saying that this movie's depiction of the primal emotions in which our lives are based on positively affects the film as a whole as well as a historical film audiences havn't seen in years.
